All submissions must be electronic and your work must be pasted into the body of an email message.
The subject line of your email should be “Submission Poetry” , “Submission Prose”, or if a combination of both, simply "Submissions".
La Fenętre Magazine’s submission address is: submissions@la-fenetre.net
Please limit your poetry submission to 5 pieces, prose at least 3 pieces (no more than four) – per issue.
Our preference is for: poems no longer than 40 lines, and prose no more than 3500 words – we may consider submissions of greater length, you are advised to contact us before submitting longer works.
PLEASE DO NOT FORGET OUR CHILDREN’S CORNER!
All accepted submissions for a given La Fenętre edition will appear both on-line and in print. We require one photograph from which we can produce a ‘head and shoulders’ portrait for inclusion with your work. It is therefore very important the photograph you provide with your submission should be in the highest possible resolution. (A reasonably close-up digital photograph, taken with a modern digital camera, would normally be suitable. For the technically minded we will accept these files in all graphic formats but it is unlikely that files with the suffix BMP or GIF will be of suitable quality. If your graphic program allows you to see the information about the graphic file, it should be in 300dpi or higher resolution. You may compress it in either ZIP or RAR format.) We want both our web site and our magazine to be of premiere quality. Even though quality photographs create large graphic files, and thus take longer to upload, we would rather receive large files than have our authors disappointed by the quality of reproduction in print. Of course, once you have supplied La Fenętre with a suitable photograph, it will not be necessary to send one with later submissions.
Illustrations to accompany your work, are welcomed. We cannot, however, guarantee to publish them. Only submit one illustration for each submitted work, unless it is obviously necessary for there to be additional illustrations. If in doubt, ask , before sending multiple illustrations.
La Fenętre Magazine does not accept blatant erotica, or work intended to promulgate religious, racist or political propaganda. Carefully review your proposed submission. Edit for spelling or grammar errors, as preference will be given to grammatically correct submissions.
La Fenętre Magazine reserves the right to edit a submission, but will only publish it after the Author has given his/her consent.
We reserve the right to reject any submitted work, at any time, and without giving any specific reason. You can’t please them all, you know. These guidelines are subject to revision.
After publication in La Fenętre Magazine, all rights revert to the author. If the work should be published in another Magazine in the future, it would be nice if you gave us credit – such as: “Previously published in La Fenętre Magazine (followed by the year we published it in) la-fenetre.net”
Try to limit your third person biography to less than 150 words (do tell us about the writer within, about the everyday you, your family et cetera.)
(You may include a first person quote with your biography, but be sure to make certain this is clearly identifiable – and that if it involves an internet link, it is correct and active.)
Read our “Privacy” and “Copyright” pages on our website before making your submission.
Happy writing and see you soon!
