David Gardiner is the ageing only son of an Irish GP, brought up in both Southern and Northern Ireland, then University and work in England. Loved the tales of O.Henry as a boy, and still writes old-fashioned short stories with beginnings, middles and ends. Presently living in London with partner Jean and adopted daughter Cherelle, who is now 25 and about to buy her own flat and move out. Also veiled chameleon Charlotte, who will probably be staying. A reformed teacher, David now works supporting people with mental health issues for a London-based charity. His interests and hobbies include science, philosophy, IT, folk music, world travel, wild life, scuba diving and cooking. One of the team that produces Gold Dust magazine. Two published works, SIRAT, a science fiction story concerning the first emergence on earth of electronic consciousness, and The Rainbow Man and Other Stories, a diverse collection of 23 stories, many with an Irish influence or setting. Bluechrome have offered to publish a second collection later this year.
