John Patrick Magee, born in 1954 in Belfast, was interested in Astronomy, painting and science-fiction until, in his mid-teens, music became his grand passion. John lived in England, Australia, and currently in Palo Alto, California. He never planned to live overseas. It just happened as a direct, or indirect result of being a musician. The big change in his life came, when at age 40 he was accepted at Flinders University in South Australia. He majored in English Literature and Cultural Theory. It was an extraordinary journey to read and write under the tutelage of great scholars from all over the world. It was there, that he discovered the joy of creative writing. Creative writing for children and adults alike, is something John still does between bouts of addiction to the guitar. |
