Author's biography:
Karen Corcoran Dabkowski was born in 1951 and has lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania all her life. She's been in love with the sound of words and how they could dance and sing on a page-- leap off, and settle in the heart. A writer of poetry since the age of twelve, she won the Jordan Davison Poetry Award in 1969, as well as the University of Pittsburgh award for high school poetry in the same year.

She is the mother of a son and daughter, four grandsons and one granddaughter, and has worked for a Pittsburgh orthotic and prosthetic company for 23 years. Karen self-published one book of poetry called 'Inappropriate Muse' in 2004, and is working on her second, to be titled 'Sounder'. She's the creator and editor of 'The Blue House', a poetry ezine online for the past five years.
