Al Ferber, born 1946, Philadelphia, PA., was the 1st thing his father did when he got home from WWII. He has had several careers: teacher, chief executive for government jobs and training programs, director of an outreach center for Viet Nam Veterans, manager and bartender of the Tangier Cafe in Philadelphia, and the last 8 years certified drug and alcohol therapist. He has been writing since 1968, published two chapbooks, GUS (1982) by Pudding Press, and in 1986, Inventory In The Badlands, Iolaire Arts Foundation, Johnston Green Publishers, Isle of Skye, Scotland. His poems have appeared in over three dozen poetry and literary magazines, and he has self published 10 books in the last 8 years: two novels and 8 volumes of poetry. In recent years Al Ferber has often published by invitation in The Blue House, and twice in Desert Moon Review. |
